Lionel Messi's shirt has pride of place in Alphonso Davies' home after the Bayern star finally managed to swap shirts with the Argentina star.

The Canadian defender was in action against the Argentina skipper in February 2023 when Bayern Munich clashed against Messi's former club Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16. After the first-leg clash between the two teams that ended 1-0 in the Bundesliga giants' favour at Parc des Princes, Davies was seen swapping shirts with the then-PSG player. The Canada international had previously tried to swap shirts with Messi back in 2020 but was told the Argentine was "too upset" after Bayern had thrashed Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League.
Now, the full-back recently uploaded a photo on his Instagram story showing off Messi's PSG shirt that he has framed and kept at his house in Canada.

PSG lost the second leg as well as they went down 2-0 at Allianz Arena and crashed out of the Champions League. Incidentally, that was the last time Messi appeared in a Champions League game. In the summer of 2023, he left Europe to join David Beckham-owned Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

The 23-year-old Bayern star has been closely linked with a move to Real Madrid as he is yet to sign a new contract with his current club. His present deal with the German champions expires in 2025 and he is refusing to extend his stay unless his wage is significantly increased.
