Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller posed with an Olympic gold medal after seeing his horse win a showjumping event in Paris.

Rider Christian Kukuk and his horse Checker, which is co-owned by Bayern star Muller, won the gold medal in the equestrian individual jumping event at the Olympic games on Tuesday. The footballer was on top of the world as he showed off the medal on social media.

The 34-year-old took to Instagram to share his happiness with fans as he posted a congratulatory video for Kuku and Checker. In the caption he wrote: "It's golden – we are Olympic winners!".
In the video, Muller said to Kukuk: "Hats off to what you have done with Checker in the last year and a half. I am so excited. Let yourself go and celebrate now."

The Germany legend has a long-standing association with horses as he once claimed his wife Lisa made him fall in love with the animal. He had said: "Horses are very friendly creatures, they are partners and companions who emit calm along with strength and elegance."
